More than 40 years counseling experience, since 2003 as an intern and since 2009 as a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have broad experience in counseling from milder challenges in life and relationships to helping clients with persistent, severe mental illness. Besides my private practice offices, I was the lead therapist and Team Supervisor for Santa Barbara County's division of mental health, adult outpatient clinic in Santa Barbara, then interim manager for County-wide crisis services. For two years I then managed a clinic treating women with substance use problems for the county of Ventura, prior to retiring from Civil Service. I have expertise serving clients both from a secular perspective, and, when desired by the client, from a Christian based-spiritual orientation.
I am also an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Psychology in the MA program at Antioch University, where I have been instructor in 7 different graduate level courses.
