From my time with clients I have learned the importance of hosting a healing space and meeting someone exactly where they are in their journey. I have seen the incredible impact early attachment has on our current relationships and the pain, loneliness and shame that addiction and substance abuse can trigger. I have witnessed the havoc the unconscious can create in our lives and much, much more. I continue to be humbled and surprised by this work and I am grateful that discovery will never end.
I remain in awe of the healing power of genuine laughter between two people, the privilege it is to witness deep vulnerability, the resilience of the human spirit, the brain's elasticity and capacity for change, the way compassion can dissolve self-loathing and all the amazing possibilities that come from loving kindness and non-defensive communication.
Someone once told me that therapy is two people walking side by side together. The client holds the map and the therapist holds the light. Oh, what an honor it is to hold that light.
